New Publications
Sharing news about your new publications increases awareness for your work while also promoting research activities in the department and Cockrell School.
- If you have an upcoming journal publication that you would like to pitch to the Cockrell School and/or media for a possible story, email Nat Levy (nat.levy@utexas.edu) and copy the department communications coordinator.
NOTE: Cockrell needs as much advance notice as possible (2-3 months minimum) for these so they can be posted when the publication comes out, so please keep this in mind when making the request.
- LinkedIn and/or Twitter are also excellent and relatively quick options for sharing your new publications. Please tag ASE/EM and Cockrell accounts for amplification. You have the option to tag your collaborators as well. The more you tag, the more opportunities you’ll have for additional amplification.
Examples:
In the Media
Notify the department communications coordinator when you are going to be interviewed by the media. Share links to stories, podcasts, news, interviews, etc. from these interviews for an opportunity to be featured on our ASE/EM Media Mentions and/or on our social media channels.
Social Media
Photos/Videos
Good visuals, including eye-catching still images and interesting short videos that feature your research perform very well on our social media channels, especially on LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Include simple captions that explains the research in terms that the general public can understand.
- Video examples:
Center for Space Research 3D Geospatial Lab Drone Demonstration
Graphene-based Palm E-tattoo vs. Gel Electrodes
