What is the acceptance rate for this major?
The rate varies year to year, but on average for Aerospace, we end up with about 25% admitted who apply; for Computational, the acceptance rate is about 10%.

What do you recommend to better the chances for admission?
Admission is handled entirely through the Office of Admissions. As they state on their website, the process of review is very holistic and includes many factors including, in no particular order, class rank, SAT or ACT scores, essays, resume, letters of recommendation, and high school coursework rigor (honors and AP classes).
What is the average SAT score and class rank for admitted students?
For Aerospace, the average SAT score is typically 1450 and the average class rank is typically the top 5%. For Computational, the average SAT score is typically 1480 and the average class rank is typically the top 3%.

How many students are in this major?
We typically enroll between 500-550 undergraduate students in aerospace engineering and 100 undergraduate students in computational engineering.

The percentage has grown over the last ten years, but generally averages 20% for both majors.
What is the job placement rate for this major?
For both majors, this rate varies year to year. On average, we have a 94% placement rate. Placement includes both jobs and graduate school. About 20% of our graduates continue in graduate school.
Is there an option for a 5-year Master’s degree?
No, we do not have this option, but it is possible to complete a Master’s degree in one calendar year.
Where do your Aerospace Engineering alumni work upon graduation?

Do your students have internships or co-op experiences available to them?

Is there an opportunity for hands-on involvement during the degree?
Absolutely. We highly encourage our students to be involved in student projects and organizations from the first day they step foot on campus.
