The aerospace engineering graduate program in the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin has been ranked No. 9 according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 graduate school rankings released today, once again affirming its position as one of the top programs of its kind in the nation.

Students enrolled in the UT aerospace engineering graduate program in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics (ASE/EM) perform impactful research in interdisciplinary fields alongside prestigious faculty in areas such as robotics and autonomy, remote sensing, computational engineering, space engineering and technology, aviation, and theoretical and experimental mechanics.

As part of the Launch Texas program, a space tech entrepreneurial specialization is also an option for students pursuing an aerospace engineering graduate degree at UT Austin. This comprehensive program integrates world-class technical and entrepreneurial education, fundamental and applied space research and outreach in a collaborative environment.

Graduates of our programs, including the world-renowned engineering mechanics graduate program, hold high-level positions in their fields and include professors, entrepreneurs, government and industry leaders, astronauts, pilots, researchers, administrators and more.

In addition, the Cockrell School’s overall graduate ranking finished at No. 7 in the U.S., and the aerospace engineering undergraduate program is currently ranked at No. 10.
